Excel –intervention option that develops student’s ability to grow in both academic and holistic skills. The guided-study environment engages Excel students in collaborative grouping for learning practice and/or mentoring. Assessment supports are matched to the recommendations received from classroom teachers. Although students are commonly referred to Excel for academic concerns (suggested by multiple D’s and F’s at grade report intervals), students are also referred for holistic concerns (life circumstances, social influences) that negatively impact academic success.

Skill Deficits Targeted for Support

Holistic skills can include behavioral supports in organization, decision-making, conflict resolution, relationship-building, etc.
