Program Description

Achieve 3000 classroom differentiation support tool for literacy tasks (CCSS) in vocabulary, reading comprehension, critical thinking and writing. This web-based program structures a 5-step routine for student interaction with nonfiction text via electronic or printable articles. Lexile-matched tasks are at differentiated reading levels but share common topic/themes for large group instruction in the classroom, flexible grouping by common articles, and integration with social studies, science content instruction.

For individual or small group use:

- Level set to discern entry reading level (lexile for nonfiction)
-approx 20 minutes per session (daily)
- repeated sessions increase lexile gain claims  (1x, 2x, 3x, 4x week) according to frequency/consistency in use
- computer access

Progress Monitoring: Program self-adjusts lexile. Teacher monitors degree of Lexile growth, rubrics for written work, annotation content, and point accumulation (connected to accuracy of thought questions)

    - SRI score  (for reinforcement of deficit skills)

     For use by student:
    - Use LEXILE SET program in Achieve 3000 (reading nonfiction) as entry step to the program

    -1300 is Lexile goal for high school graduation (nonfiction text)
