Program Description

Read 180 - Comprehensive system of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and professional development.  Designed for any student reading 2 or more years below grade level, READ 180 leverages adaptive technology to individualize instruction for students and provide powerful data for differentiation to teachers.

Read 180 states "proven to raise reading achievement for struggling readers in grades 4 - 12+."
Develops reading comprehension and vocabulary skills through
small group instruction (approx 5-15 students). Students rotate through individualized computer-based lessons, independent reading of leveled text, and small group instruction with teacher.

Read 180 recommends 90 minutes per day, 5x/week.

BCHS has implemented (as an integrated technology support) in English and Reading Course:

     *30 minutes large group instruction

     *20 minutes on computer

     *20 minutes independent reading

     *20 minutes small group instruction

    Since this program is embedded in the English and Reading curriculum, it is typical for students to exit Term 2 or Term 3
