Lancer House – The Program Coordinator is responsible for monitoring student progress and family communication on an individualized basis.
The Lancer House is an alternative in-house program for select freshmen and sophomore students who are most at-risk of failing. Academically, the program supports students making progress toward attaining core credits necessary for graduation. Students are instructed by a group of committed teachers who utilize differentiated instruction. The program also supports social and emotional growth by promoting strong peer and student-teacher relationships, personal responsibility, and high expectations. In short, students are placed in this sub-group of the Excel Program to ensure a strong start to high school. The program has an instructional assistant (Program Coordinator) who is available to assist teachers and students. The Program Coordinator works as a classroom aid with Lancer House students in their classrooms and socially/emotionally, if necessary. During scheduled study halls, students meet with the Program Coordinator for homework completion support and assistance with study skills, and organization.
